Condition-based Maintenance of Gas Pressure Regulation Systems (2008)
In reference to the worksheet G 495, investigations and services pertaining to the condition-based maintenance (CBM) of gas pressure regulation systems are carried out. DBI is entrusted with a DVGW research project that is concerned with “Formulation of basic information on CBM in gas systems.”
- The following goals are to be investigated:
- Determination of relevant operation and safety system components that are subjected to time dependent wear caused by loads, which can lead to a deterioration of the components and thus the system.
- Determination of measureable data and state variables (pressure, load, etc.) able to provide information that can be used for the definition of inspection and maintenance intervals.
- Requirements of damage/ interference analysis (acquisition, analysis, documentation) of gas pressure regulation and measurement systems and their effect on repair and maintenance periods.
- Determination of operating data that has an influence on the component life-time and therefore should be recorded in documentation systems (i.e. volume flow and load changes).
- Specification and definition of requirements for the plant condition recording and the corresponding operating parameters (comparable, reproducible, economical feasibility).
- Compilation of a manual with documentation characteristics containing the aforementioned information for the creation of fundamental rules for the application of the CBM (i.e. maintenance cycles)
- Recommendations for more effective recording of relevant measureable variables (sensors) under economic criteria.
